5.3 - What you Want

She’s found herself in strange predicaments before, but usually when she wakes up in someone else’s bed wearing different clothes she feels a lot... better then she does now. And usually there’s more blood on the walls.
Still, there’s a pile of clean clothes behind her so she may as well get dressed and see what’s going on.

She sees the white haired boy from last night and the memories come rushing back.

He stands up to greet her. “Hey, how’d you sleep? I hope the clothes fit well, I just grabbed some stuff from the back of my mom’s closet, um...”

“Sabina.” She tells him, reading the question in his mind without meaning to. “And I slept well. Thank you for the clothes, they’re perfect... but could you perhaps point me to the nearest hotel? I don’t want to take advantage of your generosity.”

“Don’t be silly!” He laughs. “You’re in Meadow Glenn. We don’t even have a saloon. You can rent out a room in the Grind but honestly I wouldn’t suggest it. That place is nasty. You’re welcome to stay here for as long as you’d like. Just do me a favour... no more biting please.”

“But what am I supposed to do for sustenance?” She asks.
He fishes out a small red fruit from his pocket and hands it to her. “Just grabbed some of there from the grocery store this morning. They should work fine!”
And then he leaves her to go work on his garden, without asking her any more questions.

What a strange, trusting young man... She takes one look at the fruit in her hand and takes a small bite.
Oh hey. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Today is Catherine’s birthday. For the first time ever, Sky takes a seat next to her. Catherine wonders if she should be afraid.

“Its... such a shame your mother won’t be here to see you grow up.” Sky mutters.
Catherine’s face lights up. “You know who my mom is?”
“Of course I know who she is. We used to be best friends before your father cheated on me with her.”

The little girl smiles. “What was she like? Was she pretty? What’s her name? Can I ever meet her?”

Sky looks surprised. “Of course you can’t meet her, sweetie. After she told me about her affair with Raindrop he killed her and brought you home to us.”

Catherine falls serious. “Dad... killed my birth mom?”
“Thats what I said, sweetheart.”

When Raindrop gets home from his first day back in the office, Catherine runs up to greet him.

As he hugs her, she tells him what Sky told her.

He stands back, face serious. “She told you that?”
Catherine nods. “Is... is it true?”
Raindrop shakes his head. “Of course not, Catherine. Your mother left because she wasn’t ready to raise a little girl. Sky was just being cruel.”

The look on her face tells him she isn’t fully convinced, but there’s nothing else he can do to change her mind right now. So he tells her to go have fun, and that he’ll be back before she blows out her candles.

He doesn’t make it back home in time.

Jacob cheers extra loudly to make up for the fact that neither of their parents are here. Catherine appreciates the effort.

She grows up beautifully.

The young vampire sits with the family for cake, although she doesn’t eat any, just pushing pieces from one side of the plate to the other.
Catherine decides to start a conversation. “So you're dating Jacob?”
Sabina picks her words carefully. “I suppose it could look that way.”

“Cool... so does that mean you and my brother are screwing?”
“I... no... no we’re not.”

Catherine shrugs. "Well it's fine if you are. Just make sure to clean up after yourselves. I'm on laundry duty this week and... well... gross."
Sabina wonders what the heck is wrong with this family.

Its already sunset by the time Raindrop finds Sky, meditating in a distant park with a view of the ocean.

He gets right into the heart of the matter.
“Are you stupid or do you just really hate our kids? How could you possibly think it was okay to tell Catherine about her mother?”

“I’m sorry Rainy, I just... you give her so much love and attention. It’s like you don’t even care about me or the other children. I just wanted-”
“Thats bullshit, Sky and you know it! You’ve gone too far this time. I want you gone.”

She steps away from him. “Gone?”
He nods. “I’ll let you pick whatever form you want, I owe you that much. But I don’t ever want you to come near me or my family again.”

He turns to leave and she picks her form. In retrospect, he should have seen it coming.

His heart breaks. “Don’t do this to me, Sky. Please don’t.”
She says the words he doesn’t want to hear. “We made love, we raised a family together, I told you the things you always wanted to hear... but lets face it. It was all a ruse. I’m a child, Rainy. Always have been, always will be.I stayed with you because I was afraid to be on my own in a form I never felt comfortable with. If you’re going to cast me out, at least let me look like myself.”

“I... I can’t do it.” He whispers. “I can’t trap you like this. You win, you’re free. Continue to leach from my soul if thats what you need to do to survive... just please, don’t do this anymore. Don't come near me until you've found someone else to leach from.”

He runs off before she can say anything further.

She got what she wanted. His permission to leave him without sacrificing her magic.

So why does she feel so awful?

Bye bye Sky. < / 3

Babies will come LATER, Maddie...

And big congrats to Krisna for catching up! *Big hugs* Watching your progress these past few days always made me smile. I'm glad you're enjoying my legacy and I hope everyone enjoys the plot I've cooked up for sweet Jacob and Sabina.

5.2 - Assassination

Jacob transforms the garage into his own personal bachelor pad. It's very... him.

The next day is graduation.

Catherine knows she looks adorable. But doesn’t forgive her father from making her wearing a pumpkin for a dress.

Oh hey Jessica.

And Vivek Sabo-Dennis and his chin.

Jacob wins “Most Likely to never leave his house.” He wonders if his classmates are all jerks or if its supposed to be funny. You know... cause he’s a gardener.

And once graduation is over, life finds a routine.
Jacob gardens.

Sometimes, Sky helps him.

Catherine and daddy play chess. He sucks at it.

Clark photo spam for Buckley.

Oh his way home from lunch at the Bistro, Raindrop runs into Anastasia McKinley.

“Did you hear about last night’s assassination?”
“Last night’s... what? Where?”
“Our governor, Cho Dawn-von Hagen lives in Neverglade. Half a day’s drive from here. She and her wife were found murdered in their home! Can you believe it?”

For the first time Raindrop feels a shred of pain. Cho was always around in his youth, and he felt safe whenever he saw her.
“Cho was my cousin.” He explains. “Her dad was my mom’s half brother. Is there any way I can help with this case? I know Neverglade isn’t in our jurisdiction, but I’m sure you must know something.”

Ana acts coy. “Well... I can't legally tell you anything about the case but all of Neverglade's surrounding cities are on the case. If you want to help you'll have to become a cop, so welcome back to the force, Rainy.”
Raindrop wonders if this is what getting conscripted feels like.

Determined to prove his classmates wrong, Jacob goes out at night to fish. He’s heard Angelfish can be found somewhere in the ponds on the edge of town, and he’s determined to catch some. Apparently they make fantastic fertilizer.

He’s so caught up in his own thoughts that he doesn’t see the young vampire until she’s almost upon him.

Unfortunately for Jacob, she’s been trained. He stands no chance once her glowing eyes have met his.

She asks him for sustenance. He knows what that means, and he’s afraid, but he doesn’t stop her.

Oh gosh that feels weird.

She was always trained to feed until his heart stops, but he’s done nothing to her, so she decides to spare his life.
“I’m going to leave now.” She tells him. “And you’re not to follow me, understood?”
He can only nod.

Unfortunately for the young vampire, sustenance doesn’t heal all wounds, and she’s been traveling for too long. The fatigue will only wait for so long before affecting her.

She’s unconscious before she hits the ground.

Jacob hesitates. She’s a vampire and just forced him to give her blood and he should leave her to nature’s wrath. But sunrise is only a few hours away, and she’ll be killed if left out in the open like this.

So he takes her home and sets her down in his bed.

He’ll sleep on the couch for tonight, and maybe in the morning, if she hasn't already killed him, he can find out where she came from, and what her name is.

---

Well, you may as well learn her name before Jacob does.

Sabina <3 Gosh I love her. She was actually a born in game sim who aged up into a toddler right before I had Rainy and Sky leave Neverglade. You'll find out who her parents are later. But I'll tell you this much... I never expected her or her twin brother to be as amazingly beautiful as they turned out.

You might or might not meet her twin brother later, depends on which story line I take.

Also: Rainy's still a whore. He rolled a wish to flirt with Ana when he saw her. I cancelled the wish and smacked him. He hasn't changed at all.
